Operational part Tank with temperature-controlled agitator

Operational part Tank with temperature-controlled agitator

Presentation:

The operational part Tank with temperature-controlled agitator is a teaching system representing a mixing tank with resistive heating.

This teaching system is mainly intended for studying process control.  This operational part is designed to be used in conjunction with the study of industrial controller and PLC programming.

Composition:

The electrical cabinet consists of:

• Safety module
• Speed variator for the agitator motor
• 4-20mA solid state dimmer relay for PID control of the heating resistance
• Signal converters for temperature probes
• Connection terminals
• Push buttons, potentiometer, and indicator lights

The operating section consists of:

• A 35L tank
• An agitator driven by an asynchronous gear motor and speed controller
• A heating element controlled by a solid-state dimmer relay
• Two temperature probes (thermocouple and PT100)

Educational activities:

  • Study of temperature probes (PT100, thermocouple)
  • System identification
  • Study of a temperature control loop
  • Configuration of a control loop
  • Study of the operation of a temperature control loop
  • Identification of the role of the power dimmer and study of its operation
  • Analysis and measurement of signals in the industrial controller visualization software
  • Commissioning and maintenance of equipment

Key features:

Ideal for beginners learning about PID control and process instrumentation

System can be used in the fields of electrical engineering, automation, industrial maintenance and process control

Quick and easy connections via plug-in terminal blocks in the cabinet, suitable for associated PLC boards and control modules
