Presentation:

The AFI is a motorized 1-axis turret, specially designed to take very high-quality panoramic photos.

The educational turret consists of:

  • a functional turret,
  • a functional turret on an adjustable ball joint, mounted on a box with measurement points,
  • a turret mounted on a test bench to characterize the information and power chains.

Technical solutions covered:

Bluetooth control and control

High-torque gear motor

2021 Bac S SI educational activities:

The educational activities provided enable students to develop their abilities to analyze, model, solve, experiment, simulate and innovate.

Analyze:

  • Analyze the need, material and functional organization of a product using a systems engineering approach
  • Characterize the power and energy required for a product or system to function
  • Identify energy exchanges on a structural diagram
  • Analyze the reversibility of an element in the chain

Model and solve:

  • Associate a model with the components of a power chain
  • Model a structure, mechanism, or circuit in graphical form
  • Model movements
  • Model mechanical actions

Experimenting and simulating:

  • Conducting tests safely using a provided experimental protocol.

2021 SNT specialty educational activities

Program and test an HMI developed with Appinventor to control the 1-axis motorized turret used for teaching purposes

The educational activities provided enable students to develop the following skills: Writing and developing programs to solve problems and modeling physical phenomena.

Digital photography:

  • Discover how an image is represented by a collection of photos (panoramic view).

Python programming:

  • Modifying programs
  • Defining and calling functions
  • Identifying functions
  • Program sequences

Embedded computing and connected objects:

  • Discovering the architecture of an everyday digital object
  • Questioning the role of a human-machine interface
  • Creating a simple human-machine interface

Structured data and its processing

  • Retrieve essential data in order to analyze the energy consumption phases of the 1-axis motorized turret
  • Processing data from a spreadsheet

    Strengths:

Fits perfectly into the "Connected Objects" theme of the SSI Baccalaureate

    3D modeling (SolidWorks)

    Multiphysics modeling (Matlab/Simulink)

Physical measurement points for viewing signals, voltage/current

Technical file (real system and teaching system), as well as all the resources needed to carry out the practical work

Teaching file with practical work sheets, practical work instructions, answers and formalization sheets
