System description:

The star conveyor and curved conveyor systems are both standalone systems that can be used to create a 90° connection in order to reduce the linear footprint of the Ermasmart line.

They incorporate either a rotating star system or a modular belt system, which are very often used in industrial packaging operations.

The functions and components are derived from real industrial components used in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries.

These systems Star conveyor for 90° connection (ref. CE41) or Curved conveyor for 90° connection (ref. CE42) systems are designed with the packaging industry in mind and meet the main requirements for intelligent and evolving production methods:

  • Flexibility & Customization with the ability to package customized items to customer order.
  • Multi-format tooling for the Star Conveyor.
  • Variable speed for the Curved Conveyor.

These two automated systems can be used on the Ermasmart line with different pots for the star conveyor or pots and boxes/pallets for the curved conveyor, but can also be integrated with other conveyors.

The main functions of the star conveyor are:

  • Conveying finished objects (different jar formats) on a 90° trajectory
  • Performing maintenance activities on mechanical parts.
  • Accepting a change in jar format

The main functions of the curved conveyor are:

  • Convey manufactured objects (different sizes of pots or boxes/pallets) along a 90° trajectory
  • Perform maintenance activities on mechanical parts.

These two teaching systems are mainly intended for activities involving driving, system control, industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, automation, and mechanics.

Each product comes with a technical and educational file in digital format.

Educational activities:

The 90° star conveyor system can be used to carry out the following educational activities:

Electrical engineering:

  • Discovering and getting to grips with the system (functional analysis and study of system technologies)
  • Checking the system's electrical parameters (network, power supply, drive)
  • Commissioning and validation of the system's operation
  • Adjustment and configuration of installation components (stepper motor with its control card)

Production control:

  • Change of production format

Industrial maintenance:

  • Preventive maintenance: elastic coupling between the motor and the rotation axis, surface-mounted bearing (bearing replacement, lubrication, and reference search)
  • Improvement maintenance (addition of sensors on the conveyor)

Mechanics:

  • Assembly of the kit system, assembly and disassembly
  • Study of a new star wheel to change the conveyor speed

The curved conveyor system for 90° connections enables the following educational activities to be carried out:

Electrical engineering:

  • Discovering and learning how to use the system (functional analysis and study of system technologies)
  • Checking the system's electrical parameters (network, power supply, drive)
  • Commissioning and validation of the system's operation
  • Adjustment and configuration of the installation's components (three-phase asynchronous gear motor and its frequency converter)

Industrial maintenance:

  • Preventive maintenance: Replacement of one or more links in the modular belt, bearing replacement, lubrication, and reference search.
  • Change of motor position.

Mechanical:

  • Changing the position of the motor with the possibility of rewiring depending on the direction of rotation of the conveyor.
