MELEC Automated Gate

Installation of a motorized swing gate

Presentation:

The Automated Gate is based on a real-world system designed to secure a home or residence while allowing access to authorized persons and vehicles.

The system incorporates a genuine gate opening and closing mechanism with an electronic card.

Technical solutions covered:

A single-leaf gate with teaching function with adjustable brake and mechanical stops

An electromechanical operator equipped with an incremental encoder with its electronic management and control board

An HF remote control

A pair of sensors

A flashing light

A set of supplies for carrying out the installation scenarios

Educational activities:

The Automated Gate system is supplied with accompanying documents covering three areas (technology, recording and communication media, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection related to operations) and educational scenarios in Cpro format with detailed instructions and answer keys.

All skills are mobilized with the system, in particular:

  • C1: Analyze the conditions of the operation
  • C2: Organize the operation in its context
  • C6:  Adjust and configure the installation equipment
  • C7: Validate the operation of the installation
  • C13: Communicate with the customer/user about the operation

The preparation activities are:

  • Define the system's functionalities (functional approach, normative approach), choose the product based on the customer's needs and compatibility with installation constraints
  • Prepare the implementation operations by choosing the electrical equipment, drawing up the diagram, sequencing the tasks, and forecasting the tools required

The implementation activities are:

  • Carry out the assembly and wiring operations related to the on-site installation of the gate automation system
  • Performing commissioning operations with level 1 or level 2 settings
  • Performing installation checks (end of project)

Maintenance activities include:

  • Managing a maintenance contract with monitoring of the maintenance log and performing periodic checks, in particular carrying out the regulatory measurement of closing forces.

The troubleshooting activities for an installation are:

  • Troubleshoot using the diagnostic aids integrated into the automation management system.

Key features:

Digital support with technical documentation and educational activities.

CPro STI scenarios for Bac Pro MELEC over the three years of training.

System can be integrated into a home automation environment with centralized management (Opera or MyHOME) via wired or wireless communication.
